Proposal for October - December Quarter and the Future

Summary:
Requesting 9k USDC for October - December Quarter to renew the Coordination/Marketing Role that is currently being managed by myself (Billyjitsu) and marketing led by Narbs.

Requesting 600 USDC for October - December Quarter for vibes call coordinator - TBD

Requesting 3k USDC for October - December Quarter for the increased activity with blog posts and upcoming activity for the end of the year - Newsletter Team

Requesting 200k CODE for retroactive contributions to the DAO. 50k to Billyjitsu, Narbs, Crypdough, Jamie Bones and K.

What were the results from the last quarter?

Coordination:
We currently have a giveaway to send 3 Devs to DevConnect. It’s an ongoing marketing collaboration that helps revitalize the vision of the DAO. It has increased the activity of the DAO, Dev n Tell interactions and Futex Labs activations.

Investments:
The team has generated a profit and with a bit of luck of an airdrop and a strategic trade, we were able to generate 200k within the investments safe along with the initial 10k that was loaned from the DAO.

The 50% of that position has been vaulted to earn a passive yield to help pay for the DAOs costs.
The plan for the other 50% is to invest into certain strategies and opportunities. The goal is not to spend the capital but use the returns earned to fund initiatives/startups in the DAOs.

Futex Labs / D_D Cloud:
We have a launch date - December 1
Confirming more partnerships with BD efforts

Dev N Tell:
Continues to have the weekly show representing the brand of the highest quality.

Ventures:
Ventures is currently working on new partnerships that make sense for the DAO

What’s the plan for the next quarter?

We want to retroactively give governance rewards to those that have been continuously contributing to DAO with minimum / no pay. I’m requesting 50k Code tokens be allocated to Narbs (Dev n Tell), Crypdough (Futex Labs/DD Cloud), and myself, Billyjitsu (Coordination, Ventures, Investments) and 25k each for Newsletter/ Blog team (Jamie Bones and K). There is currently no monetary value for the tokens and will be used for voting on initiatives.

We are requesting 9k USDC for operations and marketing. This will be split between Narbs and Billyjitsu for ongoing efforts through the end of the year in which budgets and performance quotas will be analyzed to see what to expect in the new year.

We are requesting 600 USDC to pay a host for a bi-weekly “Vibes like” call where the focus is dev topics. Where it’s a new sdk, or to learn new things, or new opportunities, we want a place where devs can chill for a bit and chat. That person would be paid a 200 USDC allocation a month to host once every two weeks for an hour. A trial run will be from October to December.

We are requesting 3k USDC for newsletter and editing work. With the current ongoing contest promoting more dev focused tutorials and a bit more marketing of the content, the load will be much more than usual and will require prompt responses. The heavy editing content will be run through the end of the year.

What’s the plan for next year?

The Investments team wants to put priority into our internal projects. Our current primary focus would be revamping the newsletter to add in some new ideas that seem to get folks excited and find ways to get developers to reengage with the DAO on a wider level.

dig that this role is considered. i got the impression that more recently the Vibes calls (i.e., no-agenda hangouts) drew little interest without some additional participation incentive. i’d suggest encouraging suggestions/proposals from the community to rethink the call. (examples suggested in the past: study groups, hackathon prep/matchmaking, mini-demo days, etc.) ideally that results in a new leader in the dao who feels good about owning their own idea, activates new and old members, and substantively connects people.

I think that’s a great idea.
Overall, I think we will have folks with different goals in mind when showing up.

Some, already working in the industry, may want a place to hang and chat with friends and catch up
Those that are trying to break in, would want to be more focused on improving their skills and learning about stacks.

There will be people that just want to listen in and vibe

There will be folks looking for hackathon partners

Overall, in this early stage, I’m looking to see how many of each type of folks show up and who keeps coming back.

Purely experimental for this quarter.

Do you think it’d be worth making that an official part of the role? Like having them try to track who’s showing up each week and what type of folk they are? Not sure if that’s really feasible, just a thought

yeah, that’s a good idea.
A simple attendance sheet with “what are you looking to get out of this chat”
