Stoked to see this proposal.

My main question is around reach:
How do we plan on using the proposed budget to grow D_D’s visibility through our content-generating projects like Dev ’N Tell? We already have strong content in the pipeline, but the real unlock will come from distribution. Can we think about how sponsorships/partnerships could be used to amplify impressions on this content so that it not only engages our existing community but also attracts new developers into D_D?

Right now, my current goal is to get existing members (such as yourself) to reengage with the community. That’s step one. You posting and people reaching out to post is a great sign.

Step two: Even though it’s somewhat incentivized, one of the requirements for this grant is for people to engage with the podcast and other projects. Things we can gather metrics from. When people interact and comment on the socials.. other people see it.

We all know, attention is short lived in this space so any strategy only works for a short period of time. So those possible partnerships that want to participate in the attention we get is welcomed in a form of a strategic partnership.

The tutorials are the most important as this is the core of what helped early Developer DAO members struggle through missing examples. I plan to also do some workshops (depending on my time availability, highlighting “getting started” style workshops). It’s no secret that our YouTube gets first hit on "How to build on… "
This is my ideal way to attract new devs into the space. Will it onboard the next million devs? Absolutely not, but what we will ideally have is a great source of content for new and curious devs looking to tinker in the space in both video content and blog content.

Reach in this space is very funneled but I am open to hearing ideas.

This answers my question.

I think many of us OGs need to commit more. We all talk about the good ole D_D days, but we need to openly start contributing if we genuinely want D_D to come back.

It’s been a long time, love to read such proposals.

You are absolutely right about the tutorials, we had a channel for every programming language and I remember going there with any number of questions and always getting a positive and helpful response.

We had teams sponsoring office hours inside D_D discord, with their core team members answering any questions we had.

Last week I was checking Dev N’ Tell episode on pods and loved it, collected a few episodes and was proud of the work @Narb put in there and the ops team as well.

I fully support this proposal.
We need more of these initiatives.

who would run point when it comes to organizing the devcon meetup, finding the location, booking the location, setting up the luma page, adding to side event lists, import emails (if needed), send invites, send updates, manually approve people, etc. ?

i like the idea though of doing official D_D meetups at major conferences, they can be really low cost, good to meet and connect in person, and i bet there will be interest for groups to co-host

Thank you for the kind words @PeterPan and glad to see you around the DAO again :raising_hands:

apologies for delayed reply.

Right now, that would all fall on me. As the person that would put it up for snapshot if it makes sense, i’ll be in charge of all of it.

Having meetups at every big conference would be amazing. I feel people would like to have a homebase to meet folks and network. I’m hoping to bring this pilot to life for Dev Connect.

Last thing I want to say is we should support others and remember our slogan
“Build Web3 with friends”
